Ahhhhh simplicity!
I like symbols myself, doodling and such, its fun. Most art really doesn't look that good without detail. But that's the beauty of design, you can make something and it is usually good to keep it simple and without too much detail. I think it ties in very strongly with Gestalt theory, as well as Semiotics.
It's a beautiful thing :)

It is good to have a range of art that we love, from simple to complex, all for its own sake. One of my favorite artists is Hieronymus Bosch - not sure I spelled that right. Another on the simple end is Mark Rothko.
